Why wig out with My Left Breast?
We will help you find the hair you have always wanted.
If you have to wear a wig you might as well get the hair you want!
Our goal is to help you find the wig that you can wear to get yourself out the door looking great and feeling confident.
One wig or two, one for fun one to run to the store.
I will be having chemotherapy. Do you carry wigs and scarves?
Yes, I carry wigs and a lovely brand of scarves called the BUFF, (you may have seen these on Survivor). Visit My Left Breast prior to starting your treatments. This will allow us time to find the most appropriate wig and head wear that suits you and your lifestyle. My customers tell me their wig choices have fooled family and friends!
How do I decide Synthetic versus Human Hair?
This is a personal choice and really depends on the individual's preference but is largely decided by care required. Synthetic wigs may require less care than Human Hair wigs.
Care and Handling of Synthetic Wigs
Avoid all heat sources e.g. stay away from ovens, barbecues, hair dryers, curling irons as heat will damage the wig fibers.
Limit the time the wig rubs against collars (rubbing against collars can fray the wig's ends)
Place you wig on a wig stand when not wearing, this will allow the wig to air dry.
Prior to placing the wig on your head hold the wig with your hand inside and give it a shake.
Washing your synthetic wig
You should cleanse your synthetic wig every ten to fourteen wearings.
Care and Handling of Human Hair Wigs
Cleansing the human hair wig
As with your own hair your human hair wig should be cleaned every 5 to 7 wearings.
Wig Price Range
Synthetic wigs start at $185
Synthetic Mono Top Wigs $315 - $600
Human Hair Wigs $350 - $1000.
